  • Lids, caps and nozzles 
  • Newspapers and magazines

  • Glass bottles and jars (remove lids)

  • Sticks and small branches (less than 1m in length and no thicker than 15mm)

  • Palm fronds (cut in half and ensure they are less than 1m in length)

Waste & Recycling Service Requirements

  • Collection times can vary due to changes in schedules.
  • Check there are no obstacles which would limit access to your bins by the collection vehicle.
  • Ensure that cars are not parked in the turning areas of a cul-de-sac or road on a service day.
  • Bins can be placed on the kerb 48 hours before your service and up to 24 hours after the service. After 24 hours, the bins must be removed from the kerb and placed back onto your property.

Domestic Waste Policy

Dwellings and domestic premises in Commercial and Industrial Zones are to be charged for the provision of the Council’s Domestic Waste Management Service whether or not any non-Council waste arrangement exists. Dwellings and domestic premises in these zones that were not provided with Council’s Domestic Waste Management Service as at 1 July 2005 due to the utilisation of a separate non-Council waste service will be exempt from the charge.

All dwellings and domestic premises in Rural and Residential zones within an area serviced by Council are to be charged for the provision of Council’s Domestic Waste Management Service subject to the following exemptions:

• Where Council is unable to provide the Domestic Waste Management Service to dwelling and domestic premises in the Rural and Residential zones due to site layout characteristics and/or location and an alternative service is approved by Council.

• Existing dwellings, domestic premises and retirement villages in the Rural and Residential zones in streets serviced by Council that are not provided with Council’s Domestic Waste Management Services as at 1 July 2013 due to the utilisation of a separate non-Council waste service.

The garden organics service will be provided as a core service to residential premises in the Towns and Villages and specified surrounding rural/residential areas with areas of approximately 4,000m². This policy applies to all dwellings and domestic premises.

All dwellings, domestic premises and retirement villages in streets serviced by Council are liable for a Domestic Waste Management Charge subject to the following exemptions; i) Rural and Residential Zones Dwellings or domestic premises where Council is unable to provide the Domestic Waste Management Service due to site layout characteristics and/or location and an alternative service is approved by Council. Existing dwellings, domestic premises and retirement villages in streets serviced by Council that are not provided with Council’s Domestic Waste Management Service as at 1 July 2013 due to the utilisation of a separate non-Council waste service. ii) Commercial and Industrial Zones Dwellings or domestic premises that were not provided with Council’s Domestic Waste Management Service on 1 July 2005 due to the utilisation of a separate non-Council waste service.
