Background
Council has successfully secured funding from both the NSW Road Safety Program – Safer Local Government Roads and Western Sydney Infrastructure Plan – Local Roads Package to implement road safety upgrades along Silverdale Road. Collectively these grants will provide $10 million over three years to enable Council to upgrade road segments which have had poor crash history and improve the road utility through Silverdale township.
Details
Silverdale Rd from The Oaks to Silverdale (Stage 1) will receive targeted upgrades which aim to improve the crash history of the road. Upgrades will include features such as non-skid road surface, safety barriers, street signage and reflectors, improved line marking and sealed road shoulders.
Silverdale Rd through Silverdale township (Stage 2) will receive a consistent urban two lane road profile including sealed shoulders, kerb and gutter, shared pathway and traffic calming features.
