Silverdale Road from The Oaks to Silverdale is receiving targeted upgrades which aim to improve the crash history of the road. Upgrades will include features such as non-skid road surface, safety barriers, clear zones, street signage and reflectors, improved line marking and sealed road shoulders.
UPDATE March 2023
We are nearing the final stage of the $4.9M project funded through Safer Roads Program via Transport for NSW.
The final phase of the project includes vegetation clean-up, pavement upgrades to a high friction surface at bends in three locations, refreshed line marking and signage upgrades and the removal of some trees. The trees are significant because of their age, size and the habitat they provide to native animals.
As such this work requires temporary full and part closure of Silverdale Road for safety reasons. The following summarises work dates and times:
The map below shows the detour that will be in place while Silverdale Road is closed.
You are invited join us at a drop-in session at The Oaks Community Hall on 27 March 2023 from 3pm to 5pm if you would like to know more about this project, including the temporary closure of Silverdale Road.
