Additional work is underway to improve the road on Silverdale Road, Wallacia on Baines Hill for heavy vehicles. This project is being jointly funded by Council and the Heavy Vehicle Safety and Productivity Program.
The work is being completed in two phases.
Phase 1 (Complete)
- Drainage upgrade work involving the installation of additional pits with extended pipes
- 254 metres of new concrete SO kerb (dish drain)
Phase 2 (In Progress)
- Construction of an onsite concrete headwall to accommodate the extension of the existing triple pipes. Work began mid-January 2022.
- Upgrade of the existing concrete kerb and gutter, completed late January 2022.
- Asphalt road work to be completed at night involving reconstructing the road from the bend at Baines Hill to Blaxland Crossing Bridge.
