Council, with funding assistance from Transport for New South Wales (TfNSW) Safer Local Government Roads, will be upgrading West Parade to improve the safety of the road. The length between Buxton and Thirlmere will be reconstructed with wider shoulders and new road signs and line marking.
West Parade is the preferred route for motorists travelling between the townships of Tahmoor and Buxton. The route has various lengths of poor condition pavement, aged line marking and road signs.
This project will deliver a new pavement formation with wider shoulders for the length of West Parade. This will also see the renewal of road signs, line marking, guide posts and reflectors. Additionally, crash barrier and vehicle activated signs will be installed at specific locations.
The completed road environment will resemble the good condition of West Parade at the bends near the Bargo River Road intersection.
