FOGO is a recycling service for food scraps and garden waste. Instead of putting food waste in your red-lid garbage bin, you put it in your green-lid garden organics bin. The combined food and garden organics collected in your green bin is then turned into compost. This helps reduce the amount of rubbish going to landfill.
The Wollondilly LGA does not have a FOGO service yet. However, the NSW Government requires all NSW councils in NSW to introduce this service for households by 2030. Residents will receive more information about FOGO as council continues to implement the plan for the introduction of this service.
Wollondilly Shire Council acknowledges the Dharawal and Gundungurra peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land, honouring their enduring cultural and spiritual connection to Country and recognising their ongoing contribution to the Shire.
