Planning Proposal to Allow Dual Occupancy in Rural Zones and Clarification of Sewer Requirements

The Planning Proposal seeks to amend Wollondilly Local Environmental Plan (WLEP) 2011, which is principal legislation that controls development and planning decisions for the Wollondilly Local Government Area. The proposal is being placed on public exhibition for community consultation as required under section 57 of the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act, 1979.


Objectives of the Planning Proposal

Council is seeking comments from the community on proposed changes to Wollondilly Local Environmental Plan 2011 (WLEP 2011) to enable dual occupancy (attached) as an additional permitted use in the rural zones throughout the Shire, and, to remove the requirement for reticulated sewerage (in areas with service not available) where adequate on site waste water disposal can be provided.

(i)         Council’s Administration Centre, 62-64 Menangle Street, Picton between the hours of 8am – 4pm, Monday to Friday (public holidays excluded)

(ii)         Wollondilly Council Library, No. 42 Menangle Street, Picton between the hours of 9:30am to 5:00pm Monday to Wednesday and Friday, 9:30am to 6:00pm Thursday and 9:00am to 12:00pm Saturday.



The Minister for Planning has issued an authorisation for Council to exercise delegation to make this plan.
