Wollondilly Shire Council takes great care to protect our information systems, applications and data. At the same time we must be vigilant against potential breaches.
Effective breach management, including notification where warranted is vital. It helps Council avoid or reduce possible harm to both the affected individuals/organisations and Council. It may also prevent or reduce the impact of any future breaches.
This draft Mandatory Notifiable Data Breach Policy sets out how Council responds to eligible breaches.
It also fulfils Council's obligations under the Information and Privacy Commission NSW’s (IPC) mandatory requirements.
