Wollondilly has faced many disasters in recent years, including droughts, fires, floods, and a pandemic. Volunteers are vital at every stage, especially during recovery.
Disaster recovery takes time, and our community may need ongoing volunteer support for clean-up, delivering essential goods, and caring for people impacted.
To support these efforts, Council—backed by the NSW Government—has created a Disaster Recovery Volunteer Database to link volunteers with recovery agencies and community groups, so help can be organised and sent where it’s needed most.
Volunteers will be called upon based on the needs of partnering recovery and community organisations, taking into account factors like location, skills, and the number of volunteers required.
Registering as a volunteer does not guarantee that you will be deployed. By registering, you agree to share your information with Council and its partner agencies.
You can remove your information and withdraw consent from the database at any time.
Submit your details via the online form below (note you will need to log into your Wollondilly Customer Portal Account).
Following a disaster, Council will pass on your details to verified Wollondilly based recovery organisations in need of volunteers.
Local organisations will contact you when volunteers are required. Recovery can take weeks, months, even years and volunteers are the most valuable part of this.
