Michael Brown Planning Strategies Pty Ltd has lodged a draft planning proposal with Council to rezone land in Picton for commercial and general industrial uses. It is anticipated that this proposed rezoning will ultimately yield over 1,000 local jobs for Wollondilly.

Under section 25 of the Heritage Act 1977, in August 2024, Wollondilly Shire Council made an Interim Heritage Order (IHO) on land at 15 Mulhollands Road (LOT 7 DP244398), PICTON to temporarily protect Aboriginal relics.
