  On 8 July 2024 the Picton Botanic Gardens playspace and amenities were officially opened by Mayor Matt Gould and Local Member for Hume Angus Taylor MP.   Wollondilly Shire Council has the fastest approvals for development applications in Greater Sydney, with an average of 53 assessment days, according to a new league table published by the State Government this morning.
  
  The league table shows Council’s performance in regard to lodgement and determination of development applications, with Wollondilly coming out on top despite having the fourth highest number of determinations.
