  The Bargo Waste Management Centre, which has reached landfill capacity under NSW EPA requirements, will be permanently closed after Sunday 8 June 2025 to allow for the necessary remediation of the site.

• Picton Sportsground Amenities extension now complete

  The impressive amenities extension at Picton Sportsground was officially opened on Saturday 5 April with a ribbon cutting and a tour of the new facility.

  Feedback is invited on a planning proposal to amend the Wollondilly Local Environmental Plan 2011 to update heritage listings for the Shire and ensure Wollondilly’s heritage places are properly identified, documented and managed. • Thirlmere gets ready to huff n puff in a race against a steam train

  Wollondilly Shire Council is preparing to host one of the most unique running events in the region – the Huff N’ Puff Road Race and Family Fun Run – on Sunday 25 May.
  
  Participants have the opportunity to race alongside the historic 3001 Steam Engine in an event which includes museum entry to the NSW Rail Museum in Thirlmere.
