As part of our investment into pedestrian safety, a massive footpath program is currently underway covering a range of locations across the Shire and being delivered with the help of the Western Sydney Infrastructure Grants (WSIG), NSW Government’s Get NSW Active Program (Get Active), State Voluntary Planning Agreement (SVPA) as well as Council’s Capital Works Program (CWP).

Shared Footpath Program

We have recently completed 296 metres of new concrete footpath from Almond Street to Fitzroy Street at Wilton. 81 metres of new kerb and gutter has been constructed to fill existing gaps on Fitzroy Street and shoulder work is complete - WSIG

 At Camden Road, Douglas Park, 464 metres of new concrete footpath has been constructed in two sections; from the corner of Station Street West (near the railway crossing) to Jenkins Street, and from Jenkins Street almost to Park Street - WSIG

Another 205 metres of new concrete footpath is now complete from Hopson Street to Duggan Street, Douglas Park with 114 metres of new kerb and gutter on Hopson Street under way. Shoulder work and asphalt on Hopson Street is also being finalised - WSIG

The footpath program will continue throughout the year with works continuing under WSIG:

·       McIntosh Street, The Oaks

·       Station Street and Riverside Close, Menangle  

·       Rixon Road, Appin

·       Menangle Road, Menangle 

·       West Parade, Buxton 

·       Railside Avenue, Bargo

·       Chandos Avenue, Yanderra

Get NSW Active work includes:

·       Hassall Road, Buxton – already completed

·       Raised Argyle Street, Picton – already completed

·       Menangle Street, Picton 

·       East Parade, Buxton

·       Greenbridge Drive, Wilton

·       Mortimer Street, Yanderra
