about the project

Council is continuing the footpath along Menangle Street, Picton by constructing 360 metres of new footpath from Matthews Lane, linking to the existing footpath just north of property #257. This will provide a safer route for pedestrians, including school children, travelling to the railway station, schools and into town.

The project also includes drainage and stormwater works, along with some vegetation clearing and landscaping.

This project is funded through the NSW Government’s Get NSW Active Fund, and Council thanks the NSW Government for its support.

December 2025

Works are nearly complete on the Menangle Street, Picton project, with the new footpath and drainage installation now finished. Road shoulders have also been reconstructed and sealed in asphalt to provide off-street parking.

A stand of privet adjacent to the elevated walkway was removed last week in preparation for tree planting and landscaping, which is scheduled for completion in January.
