The Project

With the new Wollondilly Civic Centre now complete, work is underway to demolish the former Council Administration Building at 62–64 Menangle Street, Picton.

The construction site has been fenced and established, with internal demolition and removal works now underway. Heavy demolition works to remove the building structure are expected to begin in October, with the building scheduled to be completely removed by the end of 2026.

Once demolition is complete, the site will be turfed to create a green open space for the community to use and enjoy.

In the longer term, the site is planned to become home to a new library, subject to funding. The future library will form another important stage in the development of the Wollondilly Cultural Precinct.
