Approval is required for the design of roads and road-related assets located within the road reserve and associated with a development. Any assets that will be handed over to Council must received prior approval. Please note that this approval does not constitute a permit to commence physical works.
Council approval is required for a range of activities within the road reserve, whether part of a development or an event.
Development works may include:
Entering or exiting a subdivision site
Constructing footpaths, roads, kerb and gutter
Traffic management during works
Event-related activities may include:
Surveying or filming on the road or footpath
Installing temporary fencing or skip bins
Public events that occupy part of the road reserve
Before applying, make sure you have:
A fully completed application form
A plan showing the exact location of the proposed works
Specifications of the proposed works
Proof of current public liability insurance
A Traffic Management Plan or Traffic Guidance Scheme (previously called a Traffic Control Plan)
Two references of the contractor’s work experience, or two written comments from an authorised person (with contact details) explaining the proposed works
Before applying, make sure you have:

Proof of current public liability insurance
A Traffic Management Plan or Traffic Guidance Scheme (previously called a Traffic Control Plan)
Notice of Public Assembly Approval from NSW Police (where applicable)
