• Indigenous matters within the relevant Councillor portfolio
• Developing and implementing the Reconciliation Action Plan, where appropriate
• Recognising, respecting and raising awareness of Indigenous cultures and heritage
• Raising the profile of Indigenous people within Wollondilly Shire
• Providing feedback on Council policies relating to Indigenous culture and heritage
• Representing the views and needs of the Indigenous community in Wollondilly
• Strengthening communication, access, equity, participation and consultation between Indigenous people and Council
• Advising Council on appropriate consultation and referral processes with the broader Indigenous community
• Promoting mutual awareness and respect between Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities
• Advocating on issues and challenges faced by Indigenous people
• Supporting the planning, delivery and evaluation of key events, including NAIDOC Week, Together Arts, the Appin Massacre Memorial and Reconciliation Week
