    Following the weather event that culminated in Wollondilly being declared a disaster region, Wollondilly Council and Transport Heritage NSW have jointly agreed to postpone the event to later in the year.

    Wollondilly Council’s call to have better protections in place for landowners impacted by mine subsidence has gained support from Local Government NSW (LGNSW).

    LGNSW adopted the motion by Wollondilly Council at their annual conference, and will write to the NSW Mining Minister requesting an urgent review of the Mine Subsidence Act to better protect and assist landowners affected by mining activities.

  • Family Fun at Summer Fund event this March

    Wollondilly Council will be hosting a family friendly event for the community on Saturday 26 March at Victoria Park in Picton.

    The event will feature market stalls, free amusement rides (for 7 to 12 year olds), an outdoor movie screening of The Little Vampire, food stalls, free face painting and pop up performances by local musicians.

    Wollondilly Council has endorsed the inclusion of a series of amendments to the Wollondilly Local Environmental Plan 2011 to help promote agritourism in the Shire and build resilience in the farming sector.

    Wollondilly Council has welcomed the announcement of $400,000 in funding for the Wollondilly Library under the 2021/22 Public Library Infrastructure Grant Program.

  • Wollondilly Council calls on Minister Roberts to fix new Airport planning mess so residents can build homes

    Rules banning secondary dwellings introduced by the NSW Department of Planning in some of Wollondilly’s northern villages due to the new Western Sydney airport operations are unfortunately causing heartache and financial pain for some residents.

  • Construction begins on new Wollondilly children’s services building

    Joint media releaseConstruction is officially underway on a new children’s services building, in a major milestone for the highly anticipated Wollondilly Cultural Precinct.

    The Morrison Government and Perrottet Government have each committed $814,784 to the new fit-for-purpose children’s services building, with Wollondilly Shire Council contributing a further $1,268,470.

    Wollondilly Council has welcomed the Federal Government’s announcement of additional funding for upgrades and safety improvements to Silverdale Road at Warragamba and Silverdale.
