Project Updates

29 June 2022

Tahmoor Sporting Complex building works are progressing nicely. The  ground floor blockwork is completed and the first floor scaffold and formwork is currently being installed- ready for the steel reinforcement and concrete pour to next week (weather permitting).

After this, the first floor structural steel will be installed followed by the continuation for the lift shaft and the installation of roofing and external cladding.

3 June 2022

Since the rain has eased, the project has been able to progress forward. The second section of the ground floor concrete slab has now been poured and cured, the blockwork and steelwork for the first floor concrete slab has commenced. The electrical cables for the power supply to the building have been installed and connection to the service provider will be when the project is nearing completion.

In the next couple of weeks the first floor concrete slab will be structurally supported and formed and steel reinforcement will be installed and following this, the first floor concrete slab will be poured and completed, weather permitting.

24 March 2022

Works are progressing slowly due to weather conditions. The good news is, we have roughed in the plumbing and slab preparations are in progress for formwork. The new entry road is taking shape and lift pit has been installed.

12 January 2022

Excavation works have now begun on the new building.

We have now received our long awaited LvL beams, so work has recommenced on the amenities building located near the BMX track.

7 December 2021

The construction of a new two storey multi-purpose amenities building at Tahmoor Sporting Complex is set to commence this month, thanks to funding through the NSW Government Resources for Regions, the Western Parkland City Liveability Program as part of the Western Sydney City Deal, the Greater City Sport Facility Fund and Council contributions.

Project Coordination have been awarded the tender for construction, with the works scheduled to take 9 months. The project is anticipated to be completed by October 2022.

26 November 2021

We’re continuing to work on delivering modern and user-friendly facilities at Tahmoor Sporting Complex. The impacts of the pandemic are evident with the building industry seeing a supply shortage which has affected the completion of the amenities building, located near the BMX track.

Rest assured, we are working closely with our building contractor GWP Constructions to ensure we are able to deliver a brand new toilet facility for the community as soon as possible. To date, block works including the slab and plumbing works have been completed.

Take a look at the Tahmoor Sporting Complex works progress!

13 August 2020

  • Design and construction work has begun for the athletics field. All turfed areas of the athletics field have been sprayed and rotary hoed.
  • The construction fencing has been altered to include all of the existing netball courts and the future netball courts to enable excavation and placement of fill.
  • The design for the Multi-Purpose Facility is nearing completion.
  • The tender has been advertised for construction of the netball courts, with timeframes for delivery built in to ensure completion by the start of March 2021. 12 new hard courts will be built with $1 million in funding acquired by the Wollondilly Netball Association and the remainder of the cost covered by Council.

17 July 2020

  • Work has started on Stage 1 of the Tahmoor Sporting complex.  Demolition of the athletics field is under way and earthworks will begin in approximately two weeks.
  • The existing netball courts will be excavated to provide fill for the new netball courts in conjunction with athletics field earthworks.
  • The multipurpose facility concept design is nearing completion and has been reviewed by the Project User Group. The concept is with a Quantity Surveyor for costing.

1 July 2020

  • Early demolition works will start next week in preparation for the construction of the Tahmoor Sporting Complex Athletics Field. These works are the first step in the construction of the new field, new amenities building and new netball courts. The works process has been designed to minimise the impact on seasons for the Wollondilly Netball Association and the Little Athletics Club. Council is working closely with both organisations to ensure they can progress with already limited seasons.
  • Netball will be facilitated with temporary toilet and canteen facilities, storage and power supply for the lighting to accommodate their Covid reduced season. Little Athletics have been provided storage but due to construction will unfortunately only be able to operate their season after Christmas 2020, weather permitting. Soccer and Cricket will have access to the temporary toilets during their season.
  • This project is made possible through funding from the Western Sydney City Deal Liveability Program.
