Work is progressing well on the Picton to Tahmoor Shareway site. Concrete pouring has begun and is looking great.
Concrete pouring is continuing along the Picton to Tahmoor Shareway and is now taking place between the treatment works entrance and heading towards the Koorana Road intersection.
Earthwork is progressing will between Wonga Road and the sewerage treatment plant entrance. The shareway has been graded and filled to design levels. Trees have had lower branches removed to allow for machines to operate on site. Concrete pour begins week commencing 16 October which may disrupt traffic flow due to concrete trucks entering and exiting the construction zone. Pouring will occur between 7am to 11am however contractors will do their best not to impact road users.
Construction work is beginning today 22 August 2023. This project has had some delays due to utility approval, but we are now all set to commence.
The works include the construction of infrastructure including cycleway construction, retaining walks, road works, refuge islands, stormwater and half way point rest area. There will be localised traffic control in place as construction teams will be working in close proximity to the road.
The project has had to hold due to utilities approval processes. The process has been underway for sometime and is proving difficult to meet. New delivery timeframes are currently been determined.
The Picton to Tahmoor Cycleway has commenced early works with verge clearing, surveying and utilities locating. Some last-minute design changes are underway to avoid clashes with underground utilities. This effort is drawing to a close and construction is preparing for a commencement in coming weeks.
First stages of verge clearing works have commenced. Footpath works will be commencing shortly at the Wonga Rd intersection.
Early works have started with footpath construction to commence in the new year.
Wet weather has hindered efforts with the Bureau of Meteorology suggesting we will be receiving above average rainfall through summer and into autumn.
