Local government elections are held every four years, with the next local government election scheduled for September 2024.
Wollondilly's first popularly elected Mayor took office in December 2021, following the last local government election taking place 4 December 2021. The Deputy Mayor was then elected in January 2022 by the members of the Council for a period of 12 months.
