Visits to Wollondilly Shire Council’s Animal shelter will temporarily operate via an appointment only service in response to the COVID-19 (Coronavirus) from Monday to Friday. To book an appointment please call (02) 4677 1100.
Opening Hours
For viewing, collection and drop off of animals: Opening Hours Monday to Friday by appointment only (02) 4677 1100.
Currently due to COVID 19 the Shelter is generally not open to the public on the weekends. Please ring the above number to speak to an animal control officer.
NOTE: No cash is accepted at the Animal Shelter, all payments must be made by Eftpos / Credit Card only.

Wonga Road, Picton
Public entry to the Animal Shelter is now via the Animal Shelter Office located in the Resource Centre between the Animal Shelter and the Council Nursery.
Volunteer
Volunteering at the animal shelter is currently on hold in response to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Companion Animal Surrender
Residents are able to surrender their pet dogs and cats to council for a fee. There are times when the Council Shelter is at capacity due to the high number of stray and lost cats and dogs being housed there. At these times we will not always be able to accept surrendered pets.
