Wollondilly Shire Council provides two scheduled household clean up collections each financial year to residential properties using our waste services. The collections are to assist with the removal of bulky household materials.
Please Note: No clean ups are scheduled over the Easter and Christmas periods.

Hazardous Materials Medical waste, sharp objects, syringes, shattered glass, fish tanks, mirrors, windows, deceased animals, animal waste. Where you can dispose of these items: Syringes can be disposed of at a variety of chemists in Wollondilly free of charge. See FAQ's at bottom of page for participating chemsists. Shattered glass, fish tanks, mirrors and windows can be disposed of at Bargo Waste Management Centre. Deceased animals, animal waste and medical waste are NOT accepted at Bargo Waste Management Centre. These items can be disposed of at SUEZ Resource Recovery Park at Lucas Heights or Kemps Creek. |

Building and Demolition Waste Bricks, concrete, tiles, masonry, baths, rocks, gyprock sheets, insulation batts, items containing asbestos, or any dangerous waste e.g. Barbed wire. Where you can dispose of these items: Concrete, brick, tiles, masonry, baths, rocks and metal can be disposed of at Bargo Waste Management Centre. Items containing asbestos are NOT accepted at Bargo Waste Management Centre. Asbestos is accepted at Mossvale Waste Management Centre and SUEZ Resource Recovery Park at Lucas Heights or Kemps Creek.

Putting out Materials for Collection
- Place items directly in front of your property unless otherwise advised by council.
- Items can be placed on the kerb no earlier than 48 hours prior to your properties scheduled collection start date. Early presentation of your clean up materials on the kerb may be treated as illegal dumping and can attract a fine.
- Secure loose items and place items to avoid mailboxes, footpaths and driveways.
- Make a separate scrap metal and e-waste pile so these items can be easily recycled.
- Avoid placing materials under trees, low power lines or other overhead obstructions.
- Do not park vehicles in front of your pile.
- Materials cannot be placed out after the collection has commenced in your area as vehicles will not return.
- Limit per collection: 1.5 cubic metres. Piles greater than the 1.5 cubic metres limit will not be collected. Penalties may apply for illegal dumping for properties which are not within the collection limit.
- Properties rated as Commercial are not entitled to utilise the Household Clean Up service.
- Materials generated from commercial businesses are not permitted to be placed on the kerb for collection. Household generated materials only.
Collection Tips
- Ensure items can be handled by two people
- Items must be no longer than 1.8m
- Remove fridge/ freezer doors or remove locks
- Only 1.5 cubic metre piles will be collected.
