Bushcare volunteers carry out a range of important activities that help to improve the ecological quality of a site. All tasks are carried out under the guidance of Council’s Environmental Officers who provide the training, tools and technical advice that equip all volunteers to become competent in Bushcare.
Activities in our Bushcare Program include:
The control and removal of weeds from a site
Removing rubbish and discarding it as appropriate
Planting species that are Indigenous to the site
Restoring creeks and riparian zones
Citizen science programs – eg. Stream watch and Platypus monitoring
