Closes: Dec 19, 2022, 12:00 AM
The NSW Government is inviting public comment on Coal Mine Subsidence Compensation.
Public consultation on the Coal Mine Subsidence Compensation Act 2017 (the Act) is now open at https://www.haveyoursay.nsw.gov.au/mining-subsidence. In NSW under the laws in the Act, property owners can lodge a claim for compensation if their property is damaged as a result of coal mine subsidence.
As part of the Act review, the NSW Government is inviting public comment to make sure the laws are still appropriate and fair for everyone.
The NSW Government is seeking your views on:
- The relevance of the objectives of the Act
- The mine subsidence damage compensation framework
- Development regulation within mine subsidence districts
- Compliance and enforcement of the Act.
